Stop Deportation of 220,000 from Iran

September 10, 2001

The Islamic Republic of Iran is about to deport 220,000 Afghan and Iraqi refugees from Iran back to war torn Afghanistan under the rule of Taliban, and dictatorship, war and bloodshed imposed on them by the Iraqi government and the nationalist ruling parties.

The Iranian regime has used every possible means to isolate, exploit and suppress the refugees. Deportation of the refugees is part of this brutal act.

IFIR condemns the Islamic Republic of Iran’s plan and calls on all to demand their right to live and work in Iran.  Send protest letters to Mohammad Khatami and Ali Khamenei, c/o The Presidency, Palestine Avenue, Azerbaijan Intersection, Tehran, Iran, Fax: +98 21 649 5880; E-mails:  khatami@president.ir.

Join a demonstration organised by the Federation of Iraqi Refugees Britain on September 14 from 12pm -1pm at the Iranian Embassy,          16 Princes Gate, London SW7 (Underground: Knightsbridge).
