Iraj Gahremani
should not be deported
Iraj Gahremani, a 70 year old, a loving famous comedy entertainer in
the Iranian community around greater Vancouver is getting deported.
He also played the roll of Haji – Firoz which is equivalent with
Baba-Noel among Iranian culture. And practicing this culture in Iran
is crime and banded, and can put his life in great danger which will
face persecution if returned to Iran
He has lived in Canada for the last seven years. He is married to a
Canadian citizen and is very well connected to the community. Mr.
Ghahramani’s physical health is fragile. His emotional health has
been deeply impacted by the loss of his father and the daily anxiety
and stress of a pending deportation and family separation. Mr.
Ghahramani faces increased risk of unreasonable hardship if he is
deported to Iran due to his age, ill health and lack of support in
Iran.
Federation of Iranian Refugees in Vancouver is gravely concern for
his safety in case of his deportation to Iran.
The Islamic republic regime of Iran is well known for it’s brutality
towards opposition artists, entertainers and Journalists. Zahra
Kazemi, the Iranian-Canadian photo, journalist who was murdered in
jail wasn’t even deported. She entered Iran on a valid passport.
We plea to Canadian people to call the Immigration of Canada and ask
them not to deport Iraj Ghahremani
We urge the Immigration authorities to stop deportation of Iraj
Ghahremani.
