Press release for immediate
release of Iraj Ghahramani from detention center
Iranian refugee claimant set to be deported to Iran, where people
have just managed to save the young woman, Nazanin Fatehi from
execution!
Iraj Ghahramani, a famous comedy entertainer in the Iranian
community around greater Vancouver, has been arrested by the
immigration officers while reporting to receive the result of his
court hearing based on humanitarian and compassionate grounds.
He has lived in Canada for the last 10 years. He is married to a
Canadian citizen and is very well connected to the community. He is
currently held in jail by the immigration office. He should be free
immediately!
Federation of Iranian Refugees in Vancouver is gravely concern for
his safety in case of his deportation to Iran.
The Islamic republic regime of Iran is well known for it’s brutality
towards opposition artists, entertainers and Journalists. Zahra
Kazemi, the Iranian-Canadian photo, journalist who was murdered in
jail wasn’t even deported. She entered Iran on a valid passport.
We plea to Canadian people to call the Immigration Canada at:
604) 666-8769 or Fax: 604) 666-9560 and ask them not to deport Iraj
Ghahramani.
We urge the Immigration authorities to free Iraj Ghahramani and put
an end to deportation of Iranian refugees.

Secretary, IFIR in Vancouver
